ಭಾರತ ಯಾತ್ರೆ : ಒಂದು ಮಥನ

Audi 1 – Session 6 : 4.00 pm

Mr Lakshmisha Tolapadi was the speaker for the fifth session of the Mangaluru LIT Fest. The topic of the talk was ‘Barath Yathra : An Analysis’. Dr G B Harish was the moderator of the talk.

Dr Harish started the session by asking Mr Lakshmisha a question ‘how had vyasa seen death?’. He further went talk about the mental nature of life. Mr Lakshmisha started his talk by saying that one shouldn’t think what is the question or the answer. He says anything is not as simple as black and white. It is the reality that matters and one must always be aware of that. He further goes on to say that human consciousness is in a constant change. He quotes Sukathankar in his lecture ‘on the meaning mahabharata’. He also says that what is politically or academically correct may not always be right. History always repeats itself. He continues by saying we do not live by our ‘pride’ because it does not have death. We are not only related to the present but for all time. Mr Lakshmisha concluded his talk by saying that ‘Mahabaratha is the history of mankind. That’s why it harms us.’

In response to a question from the audience he says that we as individuals have a conscious of what’s right or wrong but when it comes to a community, we don’t do it.
