The last session of the Mangaluru LIT Fest organized by Barath Foundation in collaboration with Mythic Society began with the moderator of the session, Ms Divya Karanth Introducing the panelists, Mr Prakash Belawadi and Mr Parameshwar Gundkal. The topic of discussion was ‘Visual Media : Achievements and Challenges’.

Mr Prakash started his talk by saying that AI is slowly taking over and the upcoming generation won’t be required to do any work. He fears that because of AI humans will become useless. He next talks about his experiences of losing track of time while he is engrossed in reading a book. Time creates tension is a narrative Kalidasa’s play which is a model when I come to structure. Mr Prakash goes on to talk about how PoV in cinema is very distinct and different from that of literature. He says that children in the current era spend most of the time on visual media but there is noone to tell them to critically analyse the content that they are consuming. Most of the input the children receive through visual media, it goes in a subliminal way rather than consciously. He concluded his talk by saying that people understand what they see but they don’t understand how or why they understand what they understood.

Mr Parameshwar during his talk says that the writing required for visual media is complex compared to the other forms of written literature. Converting a story into a film is very different process than turning it into a novel. He says that every minute detail and decision in visual medium is not a small decision and can evoke different emotions. He further talks about the gap between demand and supply of stories for visual media. He concludes by saying that the road map from origin of an idea to a full script for visual media is a very complex process and requires alot of learning.

The discussion concluded with a Q and A session with the panelists giving their opinion of the queries of the audience.

6ನೇ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಲಿಟ್ ಫೆಸ್ಟ್ ನ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ವಿಚಾರಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಖ್ಯಾತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ, ರಂಗಕರ್ಮಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಬೆಳವಾಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಲೋಕದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಚಹರೆ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ್ ಗುಂಡ್ಕಲ್ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ದಿವ್ಯಾ ಕಾರಂತ್ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯ ಜನರು ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋಜಕರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. AI ನಿಂದ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಗಳು ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತೆ, ಏಕರೂಪತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತೆ. ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಈ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರ ನಡುವೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೊತ್ತು ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸುವ ಮಟ್ಟ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಆಗಿದೆ, ಸ್ಕ್ರೀನ್ ಮುಂದಿನ ಅವಧಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ. ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಕನಿಷ್ಟ 5 ತಾಸು ಈಗ ಜನ ಪರದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಕಳೀತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಬೆಳವಾಡಿ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನ ಬಹಳ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟವಾಗಿರುತ್ತೆ. ಪರದೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಅಂಶವು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ, ದೃಶ್ಯ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಡುವ ಯಾವ ಕಾಲೇಜೂ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು ವಿ?ದಕರ ಎಂದರು.

ಯಾವುದೇ ವಿಚಾರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗ್ಬೇಕಾದ್ರೆ ಅವರು ಓದ್ಬೇಕು. ಅದು ಪುಸ್ತಕವೇ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದೇನಿಲ್ಲ. ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ರೀತಿಯ ಓದುಗಳು ಈಗಲೂ ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ, ಅದೆಂದೂ ನಿಲ್ಲೋದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಕಾದ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಡಿಮ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಇದೆ. ಒಂದು ಐಡಿಯಾದ ಮೂಲದಿಂದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸ್ಕ್ರಿಪ್ಟ್ ಆಗುವವರೆಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಕಾಂಪ್ಲೆಕ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಿವೆ. ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದ ಮಧ್ಯ ಬರುವ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ಹೆಕ್ಕಿ ಸೀರಿಯಲ್, ಸಿನಿಮಾ ತೆಗೀತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಟೆಕ್ನಿಕಾಲಿಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಷ್ಟೆ ಅಂತ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ್ ಗುಂಡ್ಕಲ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

“Is Uniform Civil Code important in india”- questioned, Civil Lawyer Kshma Nargund. The discussion was on the Topic, ‘Debate on Uniform Civil Code’ at the Mangaluru LIT Fest here on Sunday January 21. Addressing the question M S Chaitra said, “India was ruled by a king, but the government now owns it entirely. A society with a unified civil code will treat all people equally and apply a national civil code that will be universally applicable, regardless of their religion.”

He said, “Legislative assembly refers to the fact that its leaders are responsible for enforcing laws rather than solving citizen concerns. The people have the absolute right to enact laws by their government. India will abolish individual laws and unify all citizens under a single set of laws. The government has no right to interfere in people’s private affairs.”

“India requires UCC, but there ought to be some limitations. The freedom to select a person’s beliefs and address one’s personal issues should be guaranteed to everyone. It is up to the citizens to engage directly with the court or in person,” he said.

ಏಕರೂಪ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಂಹಿತೆ: ವಾದ – ಸಂವಾದ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಲು, ಕ್ಷಮಾ ನರಗುಂದ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ M.S. ಚೈತ್ರ ಅವರು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದ ನಾಗರಿಕತೆಗೂ, ಇಂದಿನ ನಾಗರಿಕತೆಯ ಶೈಲಿಗೂ ಇರುವ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಈಗಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯ ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡು ಬರುವ ಅನಾನುಕೂಲತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಪುರುಷ ಸಮತ್ವದ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಹುಪತ್ನಿತ್ವ ಅಥವಾ ಬಹುಪತಿತ್ವ ಗೌರವದ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಂಹಿತೆಯು ಒಂದು ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ಕಾನೂನು ಚೌಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು, ಬೇರೆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸಲಹಾ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಏಕರೂಪ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಸಂಹಿತೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯ, ಭಾರತೀಯರಿಗೆ ಇದೆ. ಇದರ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಹೇಗಿರಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಹೇಗೆ ಅಳವಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ವಿಚಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುವ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜನರೇ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಪ್ರಶ್ನೋತ್ತರ ಅವಧಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾದ – ಸಂವಾದ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಗುರುಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

All tell stories but all can’t be a storyteller – Writer Satyabodha Joshi, the moderator said on the discussion on the Topic, ‘Katha Samaya’ at the Mangaluru LIT Fest here on Sunday January 21.

Adressing the session Shridhar Balagari said, “Story has a limitation. There should be two characters in the story. Story mean it is difficult to define. Its is an experience. If the story is extended it can be essay. Story is a process its not a product. Story is a palace of knowledge. Humans have lost sight of transcendental homelessness and divinity. The author ought not to impose his beliefs on the narrative.”

Writer and journalist Jogi said, “A story that is put on Instagram is a story that tells a story about oneself in the life of another. A story is a conversation. There is a point where when he writes a story he himself has to say the slogan. I would find situations and write them momentarily. There is no regionalism in a built story, regionalism is present in a born story.”

ಜೋಗಿ: ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಗ್ರಾಮ್­ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಂಚುವ ಸ್ಟೋರಿಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ ಬೇರೆಯೇ ಇದೆ. ಅವರ ಪ್ರಿಯ ವಿಷಯವೇ ಅವರ ಹೃದಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಥೆ ಬರೆಯುವುದು. ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಕಟಗಳ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಬರುವ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಅವರ ಸಾರಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಭಾವಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಜೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮದ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳಸುತ್ತಾ, ಕಥೆ ಹುಡುಕಲು ಮುನ್ನಡೆದರು. ಅವರ ಅನುಭವಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಬೌದ್ಧಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಒದಗಿತು.

ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ಬಳಗಾರ: ಕಥೆ ಎಂದರೇನು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ಬಳಗಾರ ರವರು ಕಥೆಯ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೂಲೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು . ಕಥೆಯು ಮಿತಿಗೊಂಡ ಅಂಶ ಎನ್ನುವುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರ ಅರಿವು ಬಹಳ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅವರು ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ದರ್ಶನದ ಅನೇಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕಥೆ ಬರೆಯುವಾಗ ಅದರ ಆಳದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ಪ್ರಶ್ನೋತ್ತರ ಅವಧಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ಅಧಿವೇಶನ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಗುರುಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಜಲ್ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

The launch of the book ‘In quest of Guru’ by Ananda Mathew marked the beginning of the fourth session of the Mangaluru LIT Fest on the topic ‘Kashmir, Sharada and PoK’. The panelists for the discussion were Mr Ravinder Pandita and Ms Bhasha Sumbli.

While talking about Sharada,Ms Bhasha says that she lives in this exile consciousness which will bring the truth about Kashmir to the world and want to reclaim her place in her homeland Kashmir. When there was a fight between Devas and Asuras, devi sharada took amritha to Kashmir. Therefore it’s redder to as a very special land with a lot of significance. It is very important that the truth and reality of Kashmir has to told to the people of the world.

Mr Ravinder while talking about Sharada says that the major connect between Kashmir and the southern part of India is that all the statues that are present in south India are from Kashmir and brought to the south during the 13th century when the Muslim rulers invaded India. There are different takes on Kashmir by the different countries but the actual truth about Kashmir and Sharada is clearly know only by the Kashmirs and Indian. He says that Buddhism had overshaded the sadana of the Indians and says that Kashmir is the reason for the spread of Buddhism to the whole world. In his concluding statement Mr Ravinder says that in the LOC treaty it much be added that people must be allowed to enter PoK for pilgrimages too.

ಆನಂದ್ ಮ್ಯಾಥ್ಯೂ ರವರು ಬರೆದ ಇನ್ ಕ್ವೆಸ್ಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಗುರು ಎಂಬ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ, ಶಾರದಾ ಮತ್ತು ಪಿ ಓ ಕೆ ವಿಷಯದ ವಿಚಾರಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರಿ ಪಂಡಿತರಾದ ರವೀಂದ್ರ ಪಂಡಿತ ಮತ್ತು ದ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ ಫೈಲ್ಸ್ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯ ಭಾಷಾ ಸುಂಬ್ಲಿ ಯವರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಹರ್ಷಾ ಭಟ್ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಭಾಷಾ ಸುಂಬ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಅಮೃತ ಕಲಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮಂಥನದ ದೇವಾಸುರ ಸಂಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಅಮೃತಕಲಶವನ್ನು ಮೈನಾ ಹಾಕಿ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ದೇವಿ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರದಲ್ಲಿ. ಶಾರದಾ ದೇಶ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರವನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿ ಎಂದು ಎಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೇ ದೇವಿ ಶಾರದೆಯನ್ನ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರಪುರವಾಸಿನಿ ಎನ್ನುವುದು.

ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ ವೀರಶೈವ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ನಾಡಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ತಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲಾ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ನಂತರ ಪರಶುರಾಮ ರಾಮ್ ರಾಧನ್ ಪರ್ವತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರು, ಅದು ಈಗಲೂ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಆದಿಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಶೃಂಗೇರಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ, ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರಕ್ಕೂ ಅವಿನಾಭಾವ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿದೆ. ಇಂಥ ಪುಣ್ಯಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ದೇವಿ ಶಾರದೆಗೆ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವಿಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಮಲಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನೆಯ ತನಕ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೂ ಬೇಸರವಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಆ ಬೇಸರವೂ ದೂರವಾದಂತೆ, ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರದ ನಿಜವಾದ ಅಸ್ಮಿತೆಯನ್ನು, ಶಾರದೆಯ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮರುಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ ಮತ್ತು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿದೆ. 13ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ರಾಜರುಗಳ ಆಕ್ರಮಣದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಬೆಳೆಯಿತು ಎನ್ನಬಹುದು ಎಂದರು.
