“There is a certain similarity in the dangers faced by Israel and India. They are subjected to repeated invasions, while we fall victim to terrorist acts several times a year. However, that country has taken appropriate retaliatory measures against those who came to provoke them. Their patriotism is exemplary. Previously in our country, there was no proper response to terrorist acts, and retaliation was zero,” said journalist Vishweshwar Bhat.
Speaking during a dialogue about his work “Badukulidavaru Kandante” (As Seen by the Survivors), he stated, “To fully understand Israel and Palestine, one must look at the history of those nations. It should not be viewed through the lens of ‘Right’ or ‘Left.’ The patriotism of Israelis is unprecedented.”
Expressing his admiration for the Israelis, he noted, “65% of Israel consists of desert. The amount of rain that falls in Mangaluru in one hour is what they receive in an entire year. Despite this, they teach the world about irrigation. No matter where in the world an Israeli is in trouble, the entire nation rushes to their aid.”
“All the nations surrounding Israel have attacked them. They should have been annihilated long ago. However, due to their willpower, they continue to fight even today,” he said. The session, which provided a comprehensive description of Israel’s geography, was packed to capacity.

ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಲಿಟ್ ಫೆಸ್ಟ್ ವೇದಿಕೆ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ‘ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಅಪಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಾಮ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಅವರು ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ಆಕ್ರಮಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾವು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಬಾರಿ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ಕೃತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆ ದೇಶ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೆಣಕಲು ಬಂದವರಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಅವರ ದೇಶಪ್ರೇಮ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗುವಂತಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮೊದಲು ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆಯೇ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರ ಸೊನ್ನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು’ ಎಂದು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಭಟ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಬರೆದಿರುವ ‘ಬದುಕುಳಿದವರು ಕಂಡಂತೆ’ ಎಂಬ ಕೃತಿಯ ಕುರಿತ ಸಂವಾದದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ‘ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾಲೇಸ್ತೀನ್ ಕುರಿತು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಆ ದೇಶಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕು. ಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಎಡ ಎಂಬ ಮಸೂರ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ನೋಡಬಾರದು. ಇಸ್ರೇಲಿಗರ ದೇಶಪ್ರೇಮ ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವವಾದದ್ದು’ ಎಂದರು.
ಇಸ್ರೇಲಿಗರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡ ಅವರು, ‘ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ ನ ಶೇ.65 ಭಾಗ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದೆ. ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಗಂಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಮಳೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೂ ಅವರು ನೀರಾವರಿ ಕುರಿತು ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಪಾಠ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಡೀ ವಿಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರೇಲಿಗರು ಎಲ್ಲೇ ತೊಂದರೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದರೂ ಇಡೀ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವೇ ಅವರ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಧಾವಿಸುತ್ತದೆ’ ಎಂದರು.
‘ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ನ ಅತ್ತ ಇತ್ತ ಇರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳು ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ದ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿವೆ. ಅವರು ಯಾವಾಗಲೋ ನಿರ್ಣಾಮ ಆಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಇಚ್ಛಾಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅವರು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ ನ ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕತೆ ಕುರಿತ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿವರ ನೀಡಿದ ಅವರ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿ ಕಿಕ್ಕಿರಿದು ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು.
ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು.
