Narrating Idea of Bharat : The Bollywood way

The Mangalore lit fest continued its exploration of diverse themes with the Afternoon sessions. The sessions commenced with a display of a documentary on Col. Bhandarkar, offering a visual narrative of his journey, achievements, and the impact he had on those around him.

Following this, a book named ‘ Director’s Chair’ written by Manek Premachand was released with the presence of Prakash Belvadi and Lata Jagtiani. The next session began titled ‘Narrating Idea of Bharat: the bollywood Way’ featuring Manek Premachand, Indian writer and historian, in conversation with Lata Jagtiani, Author. Manek Premachand started his session, shedding light on the distinction between Hollywood and Bollywood and how most of the Bollywood movies have been inspired by Hollywood and Japan movies. He also stated how Bollywood draws inspiration from literature, too, showing diverse narratives that reflect the cultural and literary aspects of India.

’29 states, 100 dialects and still together’, says Manek Premachand, exclaiming how Indian cinemas played a major role in bringing us together and upholding the theme of Athithidevobhava.

Manek Premchand indeed offered a captivating exploration of the dynamic nature of Bollywood emphasized its close ties to the literary traditions. Guruprasad and kajol took charge of master of ceremony.

ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್ ಕಲಾ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ವಿಚಾರ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೇಕ್ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಚಂದ್ ಅವರು ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಯ ಸಾರಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. “ಭಾರತವು 29 ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ 100 ಉಪಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದೂ, ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯವಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ನಿರೂಪಿಸಲು, ಲತಾ ಜಗ್ತಿಯಾನಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಗುರುಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಜಲ್ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
